This last week has been the hardest one to deal with since this journey started. I have cried so much and just when I thought that it was going to get better, I fall again. Right now I don't feel like this is ever going to happen to us. I want this baby so badly that I can already feel him/her in my arms.... but the truth is he/she is NOT there. Our friends and family support has been great but it doesn't help the way I feel. I do have Faith that all will work itself out soon.
After all that we have been through I have Faith that God will see us through all these hurdles and will deliver us our Baby!

Set back??? Not really, just another hurdle to get through
This past week was a really hard one. I think it was the hardest yet, but I know that as we embark in this journey we will go through a roller coaster of emotions and situations.
The harder I have to fight to reach our goal the more I will value the prize in the end. I'm a fighter and have always been. That will never change, EVER! If you tell me NO you can't, I will prove to you that YES I CAN!
We were dealt a really low blow this past week by our financial benefactor. Needless to say that we have had to go back to the drawing board and figure out how we will come up with the money needed to bring Baby Ruiz-Simone home. After much discussion my DH and I have opened a gofundme.com account. We are asking our friends and family to help out anyway they can (if they can) or simply just share our post. The more audience reached the better our opportunities to reach our GOAL! The main goal of all: Bringing Baby Ruiz-Simone home.

Welcome to our Adoption Journey

I am Faby Ruiz. I decided to start writing this blog to keep a sort of diary of our adoption journey. Welcome!!!!
ABOUT US:
We grew up within blocks of each
other, even attended the same high school. It wasn't until we were out of high
school that we met when we were both working in the same retail music store at
our local mall. After just a few months we began dating. We had dated for about
6 years when Barney proposed. We were married on April 12, 2008. We both come
from families that are very close. Faby is the 3rd of six siblings
and the oldest girl. Barney is an only child but grew up surrounded by a lot of
cousins. His mother wanted more children but had 2 miscarriages in the process.
With some of Faby’s side of the family living throughout Florida, we make it a
point to split the holidays so we can enjoy being with as many of the family as
possible. We really enjoy this as we are able to spend quality time with a
small group of family and really have the chance to catch up with each other, where
in a larger group we’re not able to bond more. Family is everything to us.
After about 3 years of trying unsuccessfully to conceive a child and having 1 miscarriage we chose to have our baby through adoption rather than pursue fertility treatments. This is a decision that we made after much prayer and research. I had done research online to find out more information on adoption. We don't have anyone in our circle of family or friends that have adopted. We really didn't have any idea of the Who/What/Where/When. I was really surprised when I had the hardest time finding anything online. Most of the search results we came across were for adoption lawyers, so I called a few to schedule an informational meeting. Every single one we called they where asking for $300 - $500 for an hour of sit down time to go over the process. I'm sorry but I think that is ridiculous, all I wanted was the 411, how does it work, what are our rights etc. After speaking to a close friend he referred us to Bethany Christian Adoption Services.
I went onto their website and saw that they held FREE information meetings in our area and I immediately schedules ours. We met with a representative of Bethany back in February and let me tell you, 3 hours later we knew that this was the agency for us. She answered all our questions (the ones we had at that time LOL) and made us feel soooo comfortable. Even Barney was asking questions and was very interactive, he is usually pretty quiet and lets me do all the talking.
We went ahead and submitted the Pre-Application right away and officially begin our process. since then we have submitted the Formal Application and have been formally APPROVED! God is Great!!!!!
After we received our approval came the overwhelming amount of paperwork! That is what we are working on now.
My hopes for this blog is that I can be of some help to anyone out there that is looking to begin this wonderful journey. Ours has just begun and I know this will be a long journey, but the prize at the end of the journey makes it all worth it!
1 Samuel 1:27
I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him.
God Bless you!
